MILLER MEATFEST v.2.0!

Now for something completely different. After over 20 years of Meatfest as you have always known it, we are making a change.

As most of you already know, Chris AKA Father Brisket, now has a permanent BBQ location at Maple Hill Disc Golf course. We are going to have Meatfest at his new restaurant!

But, because of the obligations that a new restaurant has we have to change how we do things a bit this year. Meatfest will look more like a traditional party running from 4:00 to 8:00 on August 31. All the usual goodies will be there. Mac and cheese, pulled pork, chili, ribs and brisket and lots of surprises as well but we will not be able to roll them out on the hour due to the setup of the space.

We will be keeping some things though. We will be taking donations for the food bank. You will be able to order shirts. Brisket will be trotted out near the end of the evening. Prizes will be awarded for the closest meat weight guess. Limoncello will be available.

Please RSVP. We really really appreciate it if you can tell us you are coming.

When you RSVP, please submit how many pounds of meat you think we will be cooking for the party. The guess closest to the actual pre-cooked weight of all the meat used will win a special something. Sorry, but you need to be present to win, of course.

You can also check out the Facebook page for the site to see what people are saying. See what contests or suggestions the Millers have made or just check things out.

Every year we are so blessed to be able to share so many good times and great food with our friends so we would like to continue our outreach to the Worcester County Food Bank. Please bring your non perishable food items to MEATFEST and we will take your donations to the Food Bank after MEATFEST. Last year, we donated over 200 pounds of food and we are hoping to exceed that total again this year. There will be a box to place your donations when you get here.

If you are not sure about what to bring here is a list provided by the food bank.

See you at Miller Meatfest v.2.0!

T-shirts are an important part of MEATFEST. Purchase a shirt to help us make sure we can have the most amazing and creative specials and sides for you to try. We are abandoning the “Special Shirt” access we have had in the past and are offering shirts this year as a way to remember the event and help offset the costs of MEATFEST.

Specials are announced on the day of MEATFEST. We have had pastrami, bacon cured ribs, super spicy wings, extra mac and cheese, spicy pickles, pork loin sandwiches, moinks, texas twinkies and burnt ends in the past but Chris has been busy “playing with his food” for the last year so you never know what might show up. If you don’t already, follow @playwithyourfoodnow or @bbqundergroundma on Instagram to see what we have been doing.

You will be able to pick up your shirt at the BBQ.

Additional Info

With a new venue comes some new recommendations. This year we will have lots of chairs (and tables and umbrellas).  There is no place to put your popup tent this year but there are plenty of tables to sit at and socialize with your new friends. We always suggest setting up “camp” near some new friends. We have seen some life long friends made over a pile of pulled pork and a little mac and cheese. Maybe it will be your turn this year.

Please bring a six pack or two of the beverage of your choice to share with your new (and old) friends. Keep in mind that this is a community experience and a great place to try new things. We will be offering some limited home made beverages as well this year. Look for someone walking around with a bottle of hooch if you are interested.

We always encourage our friends to bring a side dish to share. Please keep in mind that we typically have between 125 and 150 of our closest friends at this event. We do not have a way to keep your signature jello mold cold or your super cool bacon wrapped rice cakes warm so plan accordingly.  Please bring your own serving tools if you can.  We will have gloves and sanitizer on the table.

Keep in mind that MEATFEST is a rain or shine event. There is too much meat to postpone things to another day.
